The Infinity Dreams Award

Awards are a wonderful way to get to know fellow bloggers better and discover a whole bunch of blogs as well. On the rewardee side, you get a really nice pat on the back.

I have been nominated for the Infinity Dreams Awards by Sabine and Trudy. Thank you very, very much. Make sure you check out these ladies. I don’t enjoy writing about myself too much, which is probably why this award got postponed. It did make my day, twice, a while back, erm, and it is time to pass on the honor.

22 Things about me

  1. What is your favorite cuisine?

I like spicy dishes with lots of different flavors; Indian, Mexican, Sushi, Vietnamese… I used to be a vegetarian for a long time and am still not much of a meat eater. Since living in Australia, I really miss Döner Kebab though. (You will find the best Döner in Berlin.)

  1. Which languages do you speak?

Properly speaking, German and English.

  1. Do you have a favorite author?

Bukowski and Hemingway.

  1. Do you play a musical instrument?

I play a little guitar.

  1. Do you like to garden?

I’m a strong believer in gardening is exercise. My gardening spirits sometimes get crushed by the survival rate of my plants. I am not giving up just yet.

  1. What is your favorite time in the day to write for your blog?

Generally at night but once or twice a week I get up ridiculously early to squeeze in a bit more blogging.

  1. What is your favorite kind of tree?

Maple trees remind me of America, Weeping Willows of my home town, the smell of Gum Trees of Australia, Fruit trees welcome Spring and they grow pears and cherries and mangoes … Thinking about this, I guess, I do like trees a lot, maybe I should go hug one on the weekend?

  1. Do you visit your local library?

I really love the library. You’ll find me there at least once a week.

  1. “Old fashioned” books or e-reader?

Old fashioned.

  1. What style music do you enjoy listening to?

Indie rock at night

  1. Which season do you enjoy the most?

In a perfect world, it would be 30 Degrees every day.

  1. How long have you been blogging?

It has just been my 1. Blogiversary this month.

  1. What made you start blogging?

I am on a quest for a simpler, more meaningful life. Last year was filled with bad news and great loss and I started writing to make sense about the world around me. Like for many bloggers, it is somewhat a not-so-personal journal as well as “occupational therapy”. It is nice to just play around with ideas and find your place in the WordPress community. My reader is full with tolerant and interesting people.

  1. How do you relax?

Doing stuff can be very relaxing; gardening, sewing, talking a walk, playing around with stock photos. I also enjoy reading blogs and books and may occasionally go on a YouTube conspiracy theory binge (which leaves you more puzzled than relaxed).

  1. What is your favorite season? And why?

My favorite season is summer. I love spending time outside and especially at the beach and I’m one of those people that always have cold feet…

  1. Do you cook? Do you enjoy it?

We like eating healthy so I do cook but if I get a night off here and there I really don’t mind.

  1. What is your favorite type of music?

Classical music in the morning

  1. What is your favorite television show?

I like watching If You’re the One, a Chinese dating show that teaches you a lot about contemporary China. In a way. It is really hard to pick just one… some of my all-time favorites are Buffy, Kulturzeit and Star Trek Original Series.

  1. Are you a morning or night person?

Naturally, I’m more a night owl but as a mum, it’s sleeping in when the day starts at 7. I like the smell of morning and a good cup of coffee, so I made peace with that.

  1. Are you a sweet or savory person?

sweet

  1. Are you an avid reader?

To be honest, I am reading less since living in Australia. I’m lacking public transport time…

  1. On your last trip where did you go?

A few weeks ago, we went on a field trip to the Big Rocking Horse. The last big trip was Melbourne.

Phew.

I really hope, you’ll find a few blogs here that you will like as much as I do. Enjoy your very special pat on the back and have a great weekend.

  1. Thank you so much for this nomination! I have thought about the idea of accepting this nomination and abiding by ‘the rules’, and … I WILL!
The only onerous component (for me) is the nomination of the 11 wonderful blogs I would nominate in turn, as I hate to possibly ‘annoy’ someone… But I’ll get over it … 😉
I will craft my post sometime in the coming days.
    Thanks again!!

    1. You sure are a man of words! To be honest, this is pretty much how I feel about awards, too. It is a very nice way to share blogs you like though. Good luck
