Schlager Sunday – Staying Alive

When was the last time you’ve refreshed your First Aid?

First Aid can save lives and if you have family, friends or colleagues it might be worth giving it a try. I’ve treated myself to an extended First Aid course and being in Australia, I’ve learned a lot about poisonous animals and insects… (Shivers.) Did I almost pass out on day two? Most certainly, but I’ve been told not all First Aid providers show you gory videos… For the next months; no more dad jokes and absolutely no instant coffee.

“Staying Alive” by the Bee Gees provides you with the perfect beat for CPR.

  1. My daughter was just asking the other day why they weren’t taught first aid at school. That’s a very good question! I learned first aid in the Red Cross club at school, several times during my Guiding ‘career’, then my husband and I did a course together that was set up by the international club when we first came to the Netherlands. That was 30 years ago. Hmmm.

Looking at the Bee Gees, I can’t help wondering why the other two didn’t glam themselves up a bit more like Barry. They were great, weren’t they? My sister bought the album ‘Spirits Having Flown’ and I’m pretty sure singing along to the album was responsible for our ability to sing soprano. It’d give me a sore throat nowadays.

    1. First Aid at school would be great. Or gardening. Or life skills… Sorry for my late reply but I’ve been a wee bit busy…
