It’s good enough! Is it?

Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.

Damn, am I in pain. Terrible, terrible writing pain. After all this planning and pottering about it seems all I’m left with is thinking about writing. While my little book for little kids has been turning into a ginormous series in my head over the last months, I cannot show you

page.

It’s not writers’ block, it’s more the fear of … well, I cannot even name it but this elephant needs to leave my desk.

Dear world, how do you deal with your creative struggle?

  1. I make it smaller. I sit down and say I am only going to write one paragraph right now. I don’t have to do the whole series right now, just one paragraph today.

And maybe separate spaces? Like have a writing space where you write. and maybe a notebook in another place where you jot down your ideas for the series. So that way your mind knows when it is time to think about writing and when to sit down and write because has their own space. Two different chairs. Just a thought that popped into my head.

I am so happy I can read and comment your blog. for the last two weeks, the posts would not show which was was very frustrating. and today everything was ok. Yay!

    1. Thank you for your nice comment. It is definitely time for some different habits. I was wondering, if not writing is also some form of habit forming. I will go with your advice. If I just do a sketch a day I should eventually get somewhere … Sigh

      1. oooh, a sketch a day is a great idea. I keep thinking I need to start drawing again — I’ve been thinking that for a year. So we can both sit down together

  2. How timely! Just today I was thinking “It’s good enough!” about the comic page I was working on.

… and decided that may just become my artist’s statement…
