On June 1^st we celebrate International Children’s Day. So be extra kind to the kids around you and maybe treat your inner child, too.

Since 1950, June 1^st is the general date in (post) Communist countries. The UN also declared November 20^th World Children’s Day to commemorate the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959.

However, Children’s Day is celebrated on different dates all over the world. As a fun fact, after extended research (I looked it up on that big site with W), there is not a single month where kids aren’t celebrated.

While I found resource an odd term to describe children initially, it is not just an economic term after all. The Latin word resurgere means roughly to rise again or to spring.

May our children grow up in a peaceful world with plenty of clean natural resources. It is up to us to make it happen.

On that note, let’s finish with JFK as well.

Let us not be blind to our differences-but let us also direct attention to our common interests and to the means by which those differences can be resolved. And if we cannot end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.
