Today I would like to take you on a trip to the Dong Xuan Center in Berlin. The huge Asian market had been established in 2005 and serves as a meeting point for our Vietnamese community.
Six halls are open for the public and whole sellers. Here you will find anything from electronic goods and decorations to clothes. The dining focuses on traditional Vietnamese food. While we were there a few weeks ago, most restaurants were closed but you can still get some take-away at a few places. Imagine visiting when the market is bustling!
Now, there are way too many photos of Dong Xuan Center that I would like to share with you, so I broke it up into two posts and show the pics more or less in order of taking them.

The greetings cards are wonderful. Masha the doll, not so much. Yikes! The net-stockinged mannequin also models a fetching face mask. The armless mannequin looks like the sort of collecting box you used to find outside shops in England, collecting for charities like the Barrnado’s children’s homes or the (now non-PC) Spastic’s Society. She’s probably worth more than everything else I the shop put together.
Looks like there is something for everybody at this market Jeanine, but did the dolls and mannequins creep you out a little? I wonder what else you’ll have to show us in Part 2?

We have a small Asian mall here in Portland. There are a lot of similar items for sale plus they have a giant supermarket with very interesting food items available. Great assortment of pictures!
Berlin has nothing like a China Town, so this place is really fascinating! The Indian grocer had veggies I have never seen befor e 😉
Oh! I love Indian grocery stores! I wish there was a good one near me. If you’re ever in San Francisco be sure to visit their China Town! It’s fabulous!
