Happy Ditch New Year’s Resolutions Day

Yes, right. There is indeed such a thing.

According to Days of the Year January 17th is the day when most New Year’s resolutions get tossed in the bin. If you made it this far, give yourself a nice pat on the back and keep the good work up! You deserve it.
Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t fall into the first category though. Every day is a good day to quit smoking, exercise more, eat better or send some real photos to your grandma. With a real letter.
The crux with resolutions is that they are generally too resolute, which sets you up for disappointment right from the beginning. Make sure your goals and expectations are realistic. Turn ‘I need to get up every morning at 5 am to run for an hour’ into ‘I want to run at least 3 times a week (and stop driving short distances)’. See where were coming from here? Be nice to yourself. Know your weak and strong points and never ever forget to give yourself rewards.
We recommend writing lists by the way. They are motivational and very easy to toss, too. We also suggest keeping those lists in a little box and reread them next New Year’s. It will be a good read. Promise.
