Walk on with hope in your heart,
and you’ll never walk alone.Shah Rukh Khan

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone.
…
How is that for some Monday motivation?
The internet is a funny place. While the quote is attributed to the one and only Shah Rukh Khan (hands up if you like Bollywood) there was also a little song for the Broadway Musical Carousel.
Since the song is so popular it is not surprising that there are numerous cover versions.
Louis Armstrong, Shirley Bassey, Johnny Cash, Doris Day, Dropkick Murphys, Aretha Franklin, Judy Garland, Tom Jones, Nina Simone and the list goes on and on and … You name someone, they probably sang this song.
Plus, it is hugely popular amongst soccer fans. I am pretty sure a few tears will be shed over You’ll never walk alone in the coming days …
Have a lovely week!

A splashing song!💦🐋
🙂 Thank you!
It’s Liverpool Football Club’s theme song. My husband and sons are fans. It drives me crazy. So overly sentimental. That and Danny Boy and Amazing Grace. Songs that drive me crazy, I should make a list!
Ha ha, please do! For me, you could add any song by Rod Steward.
I’m with you there. I am Sailing… No, do it quietly! By the way, did you know he has an extensive model railway layout? Unexpected.
Oh how I love fun facts. I had no idea! While I do have a thing for well-done miniature parks, the fascination with trains is a bit odd. Some people just stand on the platform for hours to take a photo of that one train coming in … Maybe if you are a rich superstar dealing with glue and craft kits has something grounding? Maybe he just builds is own empire there? After all, that’s much better than singing!
Much better than his singing, anyway. 🤣
I always liked this song! 🙂
I had no idea it was so huge with soccer! Might be one of those things I’ll always run into from now on …
And Jerry Lewis at the end of every telethon for decades. Funny, I never knew anyone else sang it !
I had no idea! Learning so much today … Apparently lots of radio stations in Europe all played it at the same time to give people hope during Corona times. Crazy to thiink that this song dates back to 1945 or so! It won’t be outdated any time soon
Give it time and it will be attributed to those internet misquote faves Maya Angelou and the Dalai Lama 😉
Ha ha, spot on!
