Welcome to the 20s! What better way to celebrate the new decade than with Prince and 1999?
Prince Rogers Nelson lived from 1958 to 2016, shaped the international music scene and raised awareness about intellectual & artistic property. Next to his successful career as a musician, he also worked as actor and director. He released nearly 30 studio albums, won 7 Grammy’s, 1 Golden Globe Award and an Oscar. His legacy won’t be forgotten any time soon.
So let’s party as if it was 1999, shall we?
Sounds good to me — I was a lot younger then! 😀
😉 Oh, weren’t we all …
Happy New Year! 1999 was the year that it was almost impossible to buy clothes in any other shade than grey. I know that because I happen to be wearing a grey and sparkly striped T-shirt I bought to wear to the party we held in our near-empty house to celebrate the new year/new millennium and wait to see if computers would crash, planes would fall out of the sky and missiles would be launched. I’ve never listened to a countdown with more apprehension. And a couple of days later we moved to Germany, leaving all our lovely Dutch friends behind. We only lasted 2 1/2 years there, the Millennium bug was a damp squib, Prince is no longer with us, but my 1999 T-shirt is still going strong.
Beautiful, please hang on to it! To be honest, I forgot about the grey. Did it, too. Massive oversized cardies got my outfit a break from the usual black. Happy New Year to you too! Let’s make it a good one
He was a pretty gifted musician though but if you can clap on one, it’s still a Schlager around here 😉
Prince and his Schlage Music accompanied to vocal pieces of pop music with simple, happy-go-lucky, and often sentimental lyrics.
Besser geht es tatsächlich nicht 🙂
Danke dir! Hoffe, du bist gut gerutscht. Einen richtig guten Start ins Neue!
Das wünsche ich dir auch – und ich freue mich auch 2020 auf viel guten Kitsch von deiner Seite 🙂
Lieben Dank 😉
