Schlager Sunday – Angie

Welcome to Schlager Sunday on be kitschig blog! Angie is the star of the show today because The Birds is all people seem to talk about at the moment. (Check out the pictures if you haven’t seen them. I hope the photographer made a fortune.)

On a more important note, well, maybe, it is election Sunday in Germany. With three candidates that failed to earn much sympathy, we’re looking at rather interesting coalitions here. Fingers crossed most Germans will stand up against right-wing populism.

In case you’re in a good mood today ONLY, there is also a cover version of Angie by Tori Amos.

  1. Angela Merkel and the bird pix are priceless! Just did a bit of reading about her many accomplishments. I didn’t know she was a scientist. I hope the election goes well.
One of my favourite Stones songs!

  2. I am shocked to see the AFD in the double digits, but relieved the greens and the FDP got more. Scary times! As for the new chancellor anything but Laschet please.

  3. One of my all time favourite Stones songs. Did you check out Mick’s eyes. Not sure if he was as high as a kite or not but it was a brilliant performance by all.
