Welcome to (wall) statues of Mary from Malta & Gozo. Despite the Catholic kitschiness, there is something rather serene about them.
All door lovers will find some rather dignified ones at Doors of Mdina.
If you would like to look at more friezes and statues of Mary, here are plenty from an earlier trip to Malta.
Happy online travelling!

I like the small ceramic ones (I’m assuming that they are ceramic)
The older ones are definately top notch but we also saw blank ones out of plaster in little shops. I am not sure, if people paint them themselves?!?
I love all of the blue, indeed serene!
Your are very right. There is a Catholic Kitshiness… !
Take care jeannine.
Actually, I got the idea from Allen Ginsberg but hey … “Ultimately Warhol’s private moral reference was to the supreme kitsch of the Catholic church.” Thank you, you too! It’s starting to get a bit meh …
I’d vaguely heard of that, thanks for the reminder.
Meh? Sounds like I’ve heard that word before. Same here. Today we took the car with my wife to drive around for 20 minutes… LOL
Wow, that sounds like a real thrill!
The are Blessed regardless of man’s Fall.❤️
