Schlager Sunday – Tu Vuò Fa’ L’Americano

The song Tu Vuò Fa’ L’Americano was recorded in 1956 and became one of the best known hits of Renato Carosone. The Napoletanien singer believed from the start, the song would be a success. You Want to Be American deals with the Americanization Italy that followed WW II.

With English translation

The avid reader of this blog may have noticed, this is the third Italian song in a row and with this I’m saying ciao, on our way to Bella Italia.

I’ve scheduled a few posts and, may the free WiFi permit, will read lots and lots of blogs at the pool. Yeehaw! Enjoy your summer! Stay healthy & happy.

  1. Ciao and safe travels Jeanine – relax and eat lots of pasta. That guy can bang out the song on the piano and sing at the same time – pretty talented and animated too.

    1. No probs. I have to admit for a long time I thought they are making fun of Americans?!? Which they probably do anyways 😉
