Welcome to Postcards from East Side Gallery. The original strip of the Berlin Wall lasts approximately 1,3 kilometers. Rumors go it is one of the longest heritage listed monuments worldwide and very likely the longest outdoor museum. You will find pieces of the Wall all over Berlin but this is your go-to place for art lovers.

East Side Gallery is close to river Spree and gives you an idea of the size of it all. While I had a little rest, I was looking towards Oberbaumbrücke. To the left you find Friedrichshain in the former East. (The Raw area is close by if you like street art.) To the right you see Kreuzberg in the former West. The ginormous advertisement for credit cards was incredibly confusing. I honestly stared at it for a good 10 minutes and it felt so strangely out of place …

It is rather difficult to take photos of East Side Gallery. For once, it’s not the tourists, but parking cars and busy lanes, so it is just the way it is. If you were waiting for Thierry Noir, here is one out of a driving car a few weeks earlier.

There’s always time to talk about peace.

Very nice!🍮🍂🍮🍮🍂🍮
Thank you my friend!
Amazing art! Thank you for the fun tour! 🙂
Its a real site! Beware, some of them sink in slowly …
Sehr schön. The one and only time I went to Berlin was in 2010. Street rt was not so developed then. Need to go back.
Berlin is an amazing place to visit! It’s not like they would let you in at the moment … but maybe you can combine it with your trip to Paris next summer? That seems realistic, hopefully!
Agreed again. Nobody thought this “tiny” little virus would put everything upside down, but next summer seems to stand a realistic chance
Theoratically, we’ll be going to a lot of concerts next summer, all postponed. Fingers crossed!
🤞
Very interesting artwork here Jeanine and I especially liked the profound thoughts. Take heed of them everyone and maybe this world becomes a better place. Yes, the credit card billboard would look out of place. Less obtrusive.
They were also dancing
at a concert
no distancing
😉
They want to return to the good ol’ days!
Thanks for sharing. An incredible amount of inspiring and cool art! 🙂
Gorgeous! Glad you had a lovely visit. Have a great week ahead.
Thanks hun, you too!
ich glaube, das kann man gar nicht alles jemals sehen und aufnehmen. man nimmt etwas wahr, und erst viel später realisiert man, wie grossartig, gewaltig und stark diese Wandmalereien sind…. Thank you so much for sharing. That was a great trip!
Hi Kiki, thank you for your comment. I was also really taking it in and that huge ad really confused me. Pretty people, (way too close) paying with credit cards seems so out of place there … I also didn’t know that some artists refused to renew their paintings! It is a really interesting place!
Excellent. I once met Thierry Noir when he was in Bristol in 2015
Thank you. I wanted to include more art but at some point they just get too long … Thanks for droping by, Sir 😉
